INFO RE: CAPTAIN GILL (GILBERT) GALLANT?

I am researching my husbands Gallant roots on PEI. We have been told that his great-great-grandfather, Gilbert Gallant (son of Propspere Gallant and Angelique Arsenault) was a sea captain who went down with his ship.

If anyone has any information regarding this I would love to hear from you.

Also, I have a large file on the Gallants and will share info.
