I'm a decendant of James Madison Gallaher. JMG married Elmira "MIZA: Sparks in 1842 by Uriel Jonson(hiwasaaee Patriot Vol II IV0409). Mary Ann married a John Sparks by Uriel Johnson as well in the same county. The spelling of the name is Gallaher as recorded from marriage and civil war records. The Wilcox biography has alot of errors. The Gallaher's are probably brother and sister as the Sparks are brother and sister. Plus they moved to the same area the same time. I'm interested in this Joanna Gallaher from the 1870 census born in NJ. More than likely that is James and Mary's mother. I will post as I research this line. I will also be traveling to McMinn county TN in the future and will share what I find.
