Hi, I hve hit this huge brick wall and it is driving me crazy. I can't find where or when my ancester was born so hopefully someone out there knows the answer.
In the 1850 cencus he is listed as 50 years old. I don't know where he was born or the exact date. HIs name is Wliiam Gallaher and he married Phebe Gibbs [no "O" in Phebe]. The choices of wher ehe was born is PA, NJ, CT or NY. Not that he couldn't have been born somewhere else, but that is the area where the other families he is associated with is from and his children were born in CT and NJ.
Any help would be great.
