Just received this e-mail. I have one of the original copies , but for those of you who would like one of your own read on. July 16, 2003 Hi cousin. I am a Gallaher cousin, who has just noticed that posted on the General Forum.genealogy.com/Gallaher is the availability of the book "Empire of Cousins, or The Gallaher Trail". The author, George Golding, no longer has any copies of the book, but I have underwritten a re-issue of this fascinating history of the westward movement, which relates the 6-month trek of William Crawford Gallaher, II and his family on the last 1845 wagon train from Missouri to the Willamette Valley in Oregon. William Crawford Gallaher was my great-great Grandfather, thus my interest in seeing to it that any Gallaher cousin who would like a copy of this great book can easily obtain one. Just send a check for $50.00 to Gladys (Gallaher) MacNair, 12510 Hesby St., Valley Village, CA, 91607, and you will receive a copy. This includes shipping charges. No check will be cashed until a book is forwarded. George Golding's wife, Joyce (who was a Gallaher cousin) died a few years ago, and her Will decreed that the remaining copies would be given to the schools of Oregon. With permission from George Golding, I had the book reprinted, and have it available to anyone interested. It is exceedingly well written, as George was a career journalist. I am not registered in Geneology.com website, but would appreciate your circulating this information. Many thanks. Gladys MacNair Notify Administrator about this message?
