Looking for a person whose name may be spelled Gallaher instead of Golliher. Have found it both ways in some census records. Here is my query: Looking for information on Golliher family in Kemper County. I am trying to find the ancestors of my husband's grandfather. We find Pulask iLacey Golliher first as a 6 year old living in KemperCountyDeKalb,Ms. with his brother William Arthur age 8 in 1880 and mother-a wisow- listed only as M.J.Golliher age 36 born in Al. The boys were born in Ms and she was born in Al. The census indicates the father was born in La(can't find anything on that-wonder if thatshould not have been Al) We have learned that his mother listed as MJ was before her marriage a Blair. A living family member told me that her grandmother MJ spoke of being the daughter of a Wash Blair. Research finds for us a George Washington Blair in Kemper County in the 1840's. He died there in 1849. Two of his children were born in Alabama a James Blair in 1841 and Mary who was born in 1843. The age and birthplace and first initial, and father being Washington Blair indicate this Mary is our MJ .ALSO George Washington had a brotherPL (he was a Pulaski) and here again this is the name of our PL. MJ had a sister who married a Hamil (again a very elderly family member remembers this as a child) This marraige took place in Grant Parish La in 1893. Have the license of PL (called Lacey)and Mattie Hamil who are my husband's grandparents.
