I have just seriously started looking into my genealogy over the past 2 or 3 days, and I have already found some very interesting info related to my ancestors, thanks in great measure to your post and that of Julia Lynn Gallagher.I have found other info from the Morman Church's database, and it all ties in with what I have obtained from you and Julia.
You mentioned you had not found info regarding children of Edmund Gallagher, I believe. With the info I have, I have been able to trace my lineage through him and his son Christopher (born Chester, PA, c. 1803).I believe I know the cemetery where Christopher (son of Edmund) and his wife Mary (Delong) are probably buried. If it is where I think, it is in Batesville, OH (Beaver Twp., Noble County) and is located directly below the old high school building there. My father, Ulrea Gallagher, took me there around 1980 (a year before he died).
Christopher and Mary were the parents of John Austin Gallagher, born in 1830 (probably in Guernsey County or Noble County, Ohio).John Austin was married to a Sarah A. Mayberry, and they were the parents of James Thomas Gallagher, born 20 Sep. 1855 in Noble County.
James Thomas was married to Mary Ada Osler on 18 June, 1877.James and Mary are my great grandparents. They are buried in a family plot in the Batesville, OH, cemetery (east edge of town). This is not the same cemetery in Batesville where I think Christopher and his wife are buried.
My father, Ulrea Edson Gallagher, was born in Noble County, OH, on Apr. 16, 1903, and died Apr. 9, 1981.He and my mother (Sarah Elizabeth Roe/Gallagher, born Sep. 2, 1901, died Apr. 28, 1999) are buried in the Batesville cemetery where James Thomas is buried. My grandfather (son of James Thomas) was Rufus Gallagher and he was married to Amanda Bodkins.I'm sorry I don't have the particulars on him in front of me, but I can obtain his birthdate, marriage, etc. readily.Rufus and Amanda are buried in the Palestine cemetery in the country southwest of Batesville.
As for me, Robert William, I was born to Ulrea Edson and Sarah Elizabeth Roe/Gallagher on June 2, 1938, in Noble County, OH.I presently live in Parker, CO, having last left Ohio in 1966.I married Geraldine Ann Herzog of Springfield, OH, on June 19, 1959.We have a daughter, Sheryl Parker, born May 4, 1968, in Denver, CO.She now lives in Aurora, CO, and was married to Christopher Parker on Aug. 27, 1994, in Columbus, OH.A son, Craig Steven, was born Dec. 30, 1970, and lives in Dallas, TX.Craig is still single, and if he doesn't do something about it in the not too distant future, this story will stop here (end of tree).
This may not be helpful to you or Julia in your quest for info, but maybe it will serve someone else down the road.If there is anything more on which I may be able to elaborate, please contact me.
