I appreciate your help with the Gilbreath/Gilbraith family of Bledsoe county Tennessee and DeKalb county Alabama. I found a marriage record for a Thomas Galbraith and a Sophia Mowry in Knox County TN for 20 August 1798. Their daughter Elizabeth was born in Hawkins County TN, according to the Lowry family information. Thomas Galbraith appears in the 1830 census of Bledsoe County. I do not have any information on Thomas after that time.

Davie Williams is a descendant of David Gilbreath of Bledsoe county. According to his (her?) posts to the Gilbreath-L message board (archived at http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/GILBREATH/2006-10/1162338117)
, David Gilbreath was a brother of Thomas Galbraith of Bledsoe county. David and Thomas were sons of Hugh Gilbreath and Elizabeth Johnston. (The children of Thomas and David moved to DeKalb county Alabama in the 1830's.)

So, it looks like there is a pretty good history of the Gilbreaths of Bledsoe county and Dekalb county. Does anyone have documentation for them? How have Hugh and Elizabeth Johnston Gilbreath been tied in? Is there any information on where and when they lived, married and had children?
