Hi Michel, I'm not sure if you are already aware of this, but the National Archives of Canada has two listings for Napoleon Galarneau mentioned in their web search for WW1 soldiers. I accessed these documents on Friday and noticed both files appeared suspiciously similar. For reasons I won't describe here, I believe they may both be documents issued about the same person. One file did state that Napoleon was single and from Quebec (city) when he enlisted on June 15, 1918. Based on his regiment information, you may be able to locate were in Quebec city area he was from. From there you might want to see the 1901 census records or even the baptim records for that area. The file marked Regiment#3284510 mentiones Napoleon Galarneau with the following info: Unit: 2nd Quebec Regiment, 1st DPO BN (1DB2QR) Rank: Pte Next of Kin: (blank) Place of Birth: (blank) I know its not much, but I hope it helps.
