Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My name is Carmen Gomez and I am the great granddaughter of Blas Galan. His parents were Guadalupe Galan and Mauricia Villarreal Galan. Great-Grandpa Blas Galan's siblings are Guadalupe Galan Menchaca, JOse Maria Galan (Cheme), Luis Galan, Josefa Galan, Celia Galan Villerreal, Joaquin Galan, and Bersabe Galan (Hernandez). My grandmother is Mauricia Galan Reyes. My grandmother recalls a family fued over a piece of land that belonged to the Galans. This story kinda sounds like the one re: descendants of Joaquin Galan. My grandmother is from Valley Wells, TX (presently Big Wells). Her father was Blas Galan (from Coahuila, Mexico) and her mother was Carmen Valle (from same place). Grandma remembers hearing her parents (Blas & Carmen) recall how they arrived in Texas (via horse and buggy) during the war. Great-Grandpa Blas had a total of 5 children: Teodosa, Nicolasa, Trinidad, Mauricia & Pasquale. My grandmother was named after her grandmother Mauricia Villarreal de Galan. She is still alive and remembers a great deal of her childhood. We somehow are possibly related, please contact me for further information if you think the same. firstname.lastname@example.org
