The earliest proven ancestor of the Gaither family of VA/MD is John GATER born about 1599. He is not the John who had children baptized at Lamberhurst, Kent, England, as that John (with wife Mary) was still having children baptized there after our John (with first wife Joan) was settled in Virginia.

It is that John of Lamberhurst whose ancestry is alleged back to the time of William the Conqueror. Details on my page at:
