I no longer live in the Cincinnati area, however, I am a Gaither decendent of the Henry Chew Gaither that was born in 1792. He was my great, great grandfather. There are a few things that I have gleaned from the web. He fought in the War of 1812. His name was noted and called at two reunions of the 1812 War Veterans in Ohio when he was around 80 years old. He and Ariana Hughes were married in Georgetown. He had holdings that he had inheirted from his uncle Henry Chew Gaither the Revolutionary War hero. (I think he had at least 6 newphews that were named Henry after him) His son Alfred Gaither evidently went to Cincinnati first. He was a representative of the Adams Express Co and because the western division Superintendent. My great grandfather - Alfred's brother - Samuel Riggs Gaither and the most of the rest of Henry Chew's children went to the Cincinnati area. Samuel evidently helped with providing horses for the freight business near Goshen, married Mary Ann Woodward and they went to Madison County IN where they owned land and became farmers. I have a copy of the family generations in the handwriting of Ariana Hughes Gaither from the first John Gaither up to Henry Chew's and Ariana's children. Samuel and Mary Ann's son Alfred Gaither (Fred) was my grandfather. My father Howard Eugene Gaither died fairly young in the area near Cincinnati. I now live in Long Beach, CA with my husband and family. Sue (Gaither) Vanzant
