We did exchange information before, but for a different person. I know very little about my family prior to my great grandfather's Samuel Gaither's generation. He was a son of Henry Gaither that moved to the Cincinnati area before the Civil War. My great, great grandfather Henry was married to Ariana Hughes. (I have pictures of Henry & Ariana.) I have run across some references online about a Henry Gaither attending a war of 1812 veterans' reunion in northern Ohio when he was 80 years old. That was my first clue, but was unsure since there seems to be dozens of Henry Gaithers. These veterans evidently served around the Ft Miggs area.

Aunt Pauliena seems to remember her family talking about him serving but she doesn't know anything else. I've tried looking up those that served by the State they came from, but haven't located anything yet on Henry. ( By the way, Aunt Pauliena Belle LaFuze, nee Gaither, celebrated her 104th birthday last October.) I would be glad to hear about anything you have on this.
