Gaithers of Clay or Talledaga Counties, Alabama

This is a long shot, I know, but perhaps someone can help me. My great-grandmother was born Miriam Melvina Cook. I do not know the name of her parents, but I know she was born February 6, 1847 in Henry County, Georgia. She moved to Alabama when she was about 5 years old. She married Charley David Wright in November 1866 in Clay County, Alabama. The wedding was in the home of her step-father whose name I do not know, but I have been told his name may have been Gaither. Does anyone know of a Gaither family who may have had a step-daughter by this name. If so, I would surely appreciate any help you might offer. Thank you.
