Hi Linda,

As with most of the user submitted Heritage books, there are a few errors. I'll post a couple of corrections here for anyone reading your message.

There are no known records of Edward GAITHER having a middle initial.

I do not believe that Edward's wife Eleanor, and Eleanor, the widow of John WHITTLE to be the same person. This was started by Harry Wright Newman in Anne Arundel Gentry, and he had not identified the WHITTLE husband of Eleanor when he wrote his book. Eleanor WHITTLE was the widow of John WHITTLE, and appears to have had grown children when John died. Unless she was a second wife of John, and about the same age as his children, she could not be the same person who married Edward GAITHER, and went on to have 13 children, as she would have been having children over a 40+ year time span.

The original John GAITHER [GATER]'s wife appears in records as Joane and Jane, not Jean.

John's son John did marry a Ruth, but not MORLEY. This again was started by Newman in his first edition, but corrected in his second edition. See source 10 at site below that shows Joseph MORLEY died with no heirs.
