I am not that familiar with where the Rogers settled but the area in your reply is quite some distance from where Basil Gaither lived. I did check in Anne Arundel Gentry and found that the Rogers intermarried with Gassaways, Warfields, Gaithers, Iiams and I think Burgesses. They all have similar name patterns because they have multiple marriages between lines due to the long time they lived close to each other. There are a bushel of Basils that have passed thru here (Davie County NC). I have tried for over thirty years to sort out all the different lines just in my family but still don't have it done. You see I descend from two different Edward Gaithers, three Benjamins, a triple descent from a latter John and a double descent from a Zachariah. Things aren't very clear around here . Folks didn't travel far from home unless they all moved. Good hunting!
