Gahan's - can you help?

My name is JOHN GEORGE GAHAN and I am seeking details of my mother ANNIE GAHAN who was born in 1917 in the Republic of Ireland. I was born illigitimately in 1937 in London and was placed in a care home until the outbreak of WW2, when I was then evacuated to the English west country. My mother worked as a domestic servant and lived at 9 Weymouth Street, London W1. It seems she visited me on a couple of occasions before she was said to have 'disappeared'. This does not surprise me due to the stigma at that time to childbirth outside of marriage.

I realise there is very little infomation here to go on, but hopefully an IRISH GAHAN (or any Gahan for that matter!) can help. I am now into my seventies and would dearly love to know just a little about my ancestry. There is no desire on my part to expose 'skeletons in cupboards' just peace of mind.

Verv many thnaks

John Gahan
