my Formica family originated out of the comune of Venarotta, nearby the city of Ascoli Piceno, in the province of Marche. It is near the port city of Ancona. A cousin went to the village and researched the church's baptismal records to do the two main family lines genealogy: Formica, Marcelli.
the patriarch and matriarch who emigrated to Philadelphia were Antonio (1858-1942) and Domenica Marcelli Formica (1860-1938). They had 10 children: Natalina "Natalie"(Parissi/Parisi) 1884-1970, Giulio 1885-?, Ernesto 1887-1976, Emidio 1888-1982, Salvatore 1891-1971, Maria "Mary" (Gagliardi) 1895-1986, Silvio "Sylvester" 1897-1939, Teresa "Rose" (di Girolamo) 1900-1982, Francesco "Frank" 1902-2004, Victoria ?-?
the Formica tree goes back to 1700, and the Marcelli tree goes back to 1690
