James and Martha (Nulty) Gagen settled in Douglas,Twp, Clark County, Illinois. They were related to their neighbors, the Brays, Mary Bray Curran, the McDermotts, the Smiths and the Caffreys of the same place. James Gagen bought land there in 1860. I believe this family to have come from either County Cavan or Meath, in Ireland. Contact me if you have more information, or would like some.
