Sorry,Karen. Our common ancestor, John Gage of the Winthrop Fleet, was not the son of Sir
John of Firle, Essex and Lady Penelope.He was the son of an E. Anglian yoeman and, if
connected, in any way, to nobility, it might be to the Essex/Suffolk branch. Somehow, I like my American Immigrant ancestor better as
a farmer!!Incidentally, VERY rare for even landed gentry to come to New England(not to mention aristocracy or nobility)They came to Virginia plantations, for the most part.
