Barnett Gaddy was the son of William Gaddy & Susan Dollard Gaddy. I have traced Barnett from the 1810 Census Estill Co, KY thru to 1860 Census Jefferson Co, IN. Barnett had at least 2 wives, Elizabeth Williams/Barnett Gadds 1787-1844 Marriage Records of Madison Co, KY pg 101 married 18 Sept 1811 and wife Matilda shown in 1850 & 1860 census Jefferson Co, IN. Barnett may have had a wife before Elizabeth as the 1810 Census Estill Co, KY shows to males under 10 or he and Elizabeth cohabitated before their marriage. All of the children listed by age in the 1820 census Estill Co appear in the 1830 census Jefferson Co, IN. I would guess that Elijah b abt 1810 and William Tillies b abt 1812 are probably the children of the (perhaps) 1st wife and the rest of the children are from either Elizabeth Williams and Matilda. I haven't been able to find a death date for Elizabeth nor a marriage date for Matilda and Barnett. The lives of Barnett's children are easily traced through marriage records and census reports on I don't think we will be able to sort through the muddle of the children until we find a marriage date for Barnett and Matilda. Would appreciate hearing from any one who has information.
