Luanne, check out www.abmc.gov. That's the web site of the American Battle Monuments Commission, the official US government organization charged with responsibility for our overseas military cemetery burials (from all wars). They have an on-line searchable data base for WW II (not including those returned to the States for burial). On a quick search, I did not find Robert, but there are contact instructions to permit you to search further. Good luck.
