Samuel Gaddy was the 1oth of 11 children of Thomas Gaddy Revolutionary War Corporal of Anson County, N.C. Samuel moved to Bedford Co. TN after 1821, but before 1830. He married his second wife, one Martha Jane Hurley in 1830, and started a second family there. His second son, born in TN. was named Thomas Jefferson Gaddy. Hope this helps you. I have done the research on the Gaddy Family in NC, Anson County, and found that we have many Tennessee Cousins. Also that there were Gaddys (sometimes spelled Gaddie) in Tennessee from the old Virginia Gaddy family whose patriarch was George Gaddy. Many Gaddies went to Kentucky, also. I believe that Samuel might be your ancestor.
