This is dealt with in Chapter 7 of the Gaddy family book, "That Our Names May Be Written," by the late William C. and Corinne Gaddy. It seems probable that this was the Thomas Gaddey/Gaddy (wife Lucie/Lucy) who moved from Bedford County, VA, to Halifax, NC, in 1760, although his son, also Thomas (who fought throughout the Revolution and settled in Anson), may have been of age by that time. Various deeds extant give a fair idea of the shape of the land holdings, but they have not been precisely placed.
