searching for ancestors

hello distant family whether you believe are speculatively related or not matters not. my name is reed hancock gaddie, married to staci gaddie and we have a 9 mo old daughter katelyn cori gaddie, i have another wonderful daughter saundra gaddie from a previous marriage, and my love is equal for her. i am the son of ernest and delite gaddie. my mother was a certified geneologist. back in the 1960's, father and mother rode along the old national highway through the states of kentucky, arkansas, virginia, south carolina, and north carolina. they traced our family as follows. my grandfather was bolliver bolin gaddie (later changed to oliver bowen gaddie), son of thomas buel gaddie (gaddy), son of elkanah (speliing and nick names are numerous) gaddie, son of silas gaddie, son of william gaddy(gaddey and gaddy)and married to sarah bryant, who was son of sherwood gaddy,(gaddey), who is the son of the famous william and mary gaddy that we of us are now researching. the trip mother and father took led them to homes of plantations, farms, and to distant cousins who were living back in the hills so far that a car could not drive to them. during their travels, they came across only one person in our family that took some time and figured our who was related to who back then, and that information was recorded in hand written language on the back of a paper sack by a sweet cousin whom gave them the best tasting pie which had ever been tasted. even today, despite she has passed on, we hold this cousin dear in our hearts, for she led us through the missing pages of our family's quest to find our ancestors.
my hope today is that one or several of our cousins and family (speculative or not) have information on any gaddys whom were living in in north and south carolina from 1752 and earlier?

if so, our family would appreciate any information.

thank you all
reed gaddy
