i noticed in several different cenus,military or the like the spelling of my tree goes from gadd gaddis gaddes gade gads and the referance to ages and number in household appear the same have you run into that
i live in fayette county ,pa which would have been virginia until 1783
i traced some relatives back to apple pie ridge virginia(winchester) having come there from new jersey across the delaware river from philadelphia'bucks county,later they where employed as wagoneers for general braddocks army as wagoneers along with daniel boone and when bradock lost his battle on appoarch to fort duqnes' daniel deserted with a mass of others 10 years later gaddis fort was build near to the catawab trail near where old daniel had camped south of uniontown.pa
