My family's story of the French connection, Abandant child mid sixteen century, grew up beleving himself to be French Many years later Son of this child was told by some French soldiers he did'nt have a name he was a-- LEFT HAND--- With the help of the priest they got a name they used the first part of the original name---Ga--Gac---and part of the place name, Daniel was changed to Denis---better to be English than French, This caused some trouble later, some family member,s wanting to be French at least they were Catholic, others wanting to be English, was,nt there some good Catholic English.
