I am a descendant of George Gable and Elizabeth Keener/Kuehner Gable and am interested in finding out whether my 3rd great grandfather George, born about 1803, purportedly in Lancaster County, PA, was the son of Enoch Gable.I have found George in Dauphin County, PA land records but have not located either birth or marriage records for him nor birth or baptismal records for their first child. He and Elizabeth emigrated to Darke County, Ohio, from PA about 1830 with their infant son Abraham, born March 1829 in PA.They were living in Monroe Twp., Darke Co., OH in 1850 and by 1854 had moved to Cleveland Twp., Whitley Co., IN.Elizabeth died there in about 1871 and George in 1887.Both are buried in Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland Twp.A biographical sketch for George indicates that he was the only one in his family to move West.I have been unable to find any documentation that links him to any other Gable family member to date.Any information that might provide me with a connection to other of his family members would be very much appreciated.
Since his date of birth coincides with Enoch Gable's son George, I was wondering where the births of Enoch's 14 children were documented.Could someone please provide me with the source citation?Elizabeth's family attended White Oaks Union Church, Penryn, Penn Township, Lancaster County, and I think that some of Enoch's children lived in neighboring Warwick Township.I'd be happy to share any information that I have on these families. Thanks!
