I am related through Aaron Sylvester's brother Solomon Levi. Aaron Sylvester's nephew Charles Hugh was my father. Although I have no solution to your mystery, I have never seen or heard of a marriage before Ida Janes. I do have an account, however by his sister in law, Asenath (Mrs. Solomon Levi Gable) when she visited Woodlan Aaron (as she always called him) in Watsonville in the Pajaro Valley in 1901. He led an exciting life, some of which she tells in a document I have. She list his children as those which we all have seen. It might be that he had not settled down at the time of marrying Mary Robison. Do you have the date of her death? I suppose it is possible that Ida Janes was visiting with her father at the time the census was taken. However there is still the question as to whether the rest of the family did not mention an earlier marriage. I believe Asenath would have acknowleged it in her biography if she had known. I would like to have your lineage to put with the materials that I have. Good luck with your efforts. Ralph Notify Administrator about this message?
