Bob,
Thanks for the info! It confirms all I have been finding in the last twodays!
Johan Jacob Goebel b. 1812 married on 20 Aug 1833 Maria Magdelena Bremm b. 15 Aug 1812, in Ernst.
Their son Jacob Goebel b. 11 Feb, 1846 [I have a long list of other children from the Ernst records on LDS] married in 1875 in Osann-Monzel Maria Anna Niersbach b. Dec 1852.
Maria Anna's parents were Philipp (sic) Niersbach and Catherine ESCH.
{Where the hell MASON came from I do not know!] Catherine having been born in Oct. 1820. The 1900 Census transcriber must've turned a page or something.Anyway this marriage is listed in the church records below.Must've recorded the info for the parish as they transferred in from another parish?!
Here is the page/url with the info from St. Peter & St. Nikolas Parish Ossan...

If you go up the page to the GOEBEL section of names, you will find:
Jacob, Maria Anna Niersbachtheir daughters: Anna Maria 1877, Barbara
1882, Gertrud 1881.
The marriages have what looks like an 'infinity' symbol or two wedding rings interlocked! cute, eh?
Much of the previous line of Goebel are there like the marriage of Johan Jakob of ERNST and so forth, I am sure you are quite capable of making sense of this.
Then, of course, farther down the page is the Niersbach family.Philip Niersbach was from Pohlbach!
Hope this may help you a bit!It was certainly intriguing!
I shall now go read your SECOND message,
Jan
