Thanks Charles, that makes good sense. I just knew that they couldn't be the same person but couldn't quite get a handle on who or which was in the Rev War. I'm sure your right, our Charles must have been in the war. It's too bad there weren't better records.
I can see that I'll have to do some more research on the collateral families.
