Hi Tina, I myself don't have a connection to these Jacksons of Wilkinson Co. other than having a DNA match. Terry and Pamela descend from Joseph Absolem Jackson Jr. that married Sarah Etheridge, then they had a son named Joseph Etheridge Jackson (1832) that married first to Selina Jenkins and second to Arrissia Blanch Mills. In the 1860 census for Wilkinson Co. Sarah was living with her son Joseph Etherige Jackson but Terry was unable to find Joseph Absolem Jackson Jr. in the 1850 census. I don't think they have tried to find any of the other siblings in census records. I think Jesse Jackson was in the 1820 census for Wilkinson Co.
In Wilkinson Co. there was a church called Mt. Nebo Baptist Church which was begun in 1808. One of the founding members of the church in 1808 was Thomas Jackson and his wife Sarah joined the church later. Thomas could be a brother to Joseph A. Jackson Sr. that died in 1825 but I really don't know if they are brothers. Two of Thomas's sons, Abner and Clark Jackson joined the church later. A Susannah Wood joined the church and I think she may have married Clark Jackson. Anyway this family showed up in Conecuh Co. Al. in 1818 and helped to establish the Murder Creek Baptist Church there. I have been trying to connect my John Thomas Jackson to the Thomas Jackson of Mt. Nebo church without any success so far. Tina there is just too much information to give you on this forum so if you have more questions please contact me off line.
