Hi Tina,
Welcome aboard our Jackson group of Wilkinson County. I see you have talked some with Pamela Verbal concerning these Jacksons. I have also talked with her and her cousin, Terry C. Jackson. My Jackson cousin is the one who matched up by DNA to Terry Jackson. I don't have a 100% match with Terry since we differ on 3 markers. I'm thinking that your Thomas Jackson is indeed a descendant of this group of Jacksons. My paper trail ends in Crawford Co. Ga. where my John Thomas Jackson (b. 1808) married Nancy Jane Wood in 1832. Nancy's father was Joseph Wood of Putnam Co. Ga. and he was in Crawford Co. a short time before moving on to Pike Co. Alabama. My John T. Jackson traveled with him and settled in China Grove, Pike Co. Al.
Do you have a male Jackson cousin who could do the DNA testing also? It would be great if you could. The more people we have to match up with the better it is to track everyone who is related. We have about 10 people in our group so far and not all were tested by familytreedna.
If you have any questions let me know.
Naomi
