Hi Retha,

Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you.
Not sure about Canty having a brother named Joseph.

I have this on Polly. born about 1829. Received this from another researcher on the Taylor line. Her birth dates do not match to mine from census records but they are close. She has David C. (my line) being born in 1827, making Polly the second born child of Canty and Elizabeth Bales, then Julius (her line) born 1831. Martha b. 1833, Julia b.1836, Sara Ann b. 1838, Gilbert b. 1840, Elizabeth b. 1842, Jesse b. 1845, Mary b. 1854.

I have a copy of this census page. In the 1850 census for Wilkinson, Canty is 50 and Elizabeth is also 50. I show the below children still at home (no Polly, may have been marr. by that time)
David 21
Martha 17
Julius 14
Sarah Ann 12
Gilbert 10
Elizabeth 8
Jesse 5
Mersian 2
neighbors were the Lavender and Snow families.

Also have a copy of the 1840, but those darn slashes drive me nuts, I can't ever tell how many kids correctly.

I really need to pull out all my Taylor line. I have a copy of his will somewhere. Got it at the Ga. Hitorical Society in Atlanta one year.

On a list I got from someone for Wilkinson marraiges shows a Polly Taylor marr. a Thomas Baker 02/03/1822, can't be Canty's daughter, but may help you some other way.

My email is jvejohn at aol dot com, if you'd like to write me directly.
