Beverly, I have additional Williams information. William williams(1801- Dec. 1885 born in SC --perhaps Aiken, Co.) was my fraternal great great grandfather. He married Elizabeth ( last name?) born c. 1813 and died between the 1870 and 1880 Stewart County,GA. Census. I have at least 12 children listed. They are burgess c.1830, William c. 1832, Mary c.1833, James c. 1834 who married Nancy Ann Etheridge, Albert c. 1836, John c. 1838-- Conf. Soldier?, Sarah c. 1840 who married a Covington Duman/Hasty?, Hillyer c. 1841 who married Nancy Huff, Patience c. 1842 who married J.W. Price/Jones?, Issas/Isam? c. 1844 who married Henrietta Jones, Elizabeth c. 1846 who married J.E. Loyless and Cynthia c. 1848. I believe there is another name on the 1880 census. No wonder Elizabeth died after giving birth to so many children!!!! Please make corrections and help me on missing info. DeLois Williams Gainey in Athens, GA. Oh yes, William received a Land Grant in Rabun Co, Ga. on July 1, 1843. You will find them in Stewart Co. beginning on the 1850 Census and on page 114 of the History of Stewart Co.
