The Harper's of Wayne, Pierce, Ware, Brantley, Bacon, and Appling Counties

Dear All,

I am researching a branch of the Harper's from Wayne, Pierce, Ware, Brantley, Bacon, and Appling counties. About ten years ago, my great-grandfather passed away and I wish I had been old enough and smart enough to ask him about these things while I had him around!

My great-grandfather (Leon Harper) was, I believe, the last living child of Benjamin Franklin Harper.

B.F. Harper was married twice. The first time was to Mary Hesters and I believe most of B.F.'s children where with Mary. Mary Hesters died, I believe, in 1924 and is buried in Blackshear, Georgia. B.F. then married Irene Sears and, as far as I can tell, they had two children together.

Some of the children of B.F. Harper were (in no particular order): Dennis, Virgil(poss James V), Leon, Mary (Mary Harper Cole), Frank Elbert, Joseph C (Joe-Cecil), and (poss) Ethel.

The best information I have says that B.F.'s father was James Adam Harper, JR. Grandfather, James Adam Harper, and then the trail gets really weak.

If you have any information about this branch of the Harpers I would be very grateful!

Thank you in advance.

v/r

Andrew Harper
