William Williams of Wayne County

I am looking for information on William Williams (1736-1795), the son of Stephen and Elizabeth Lewis Williams. I am descended from him through his daughter Elizabeth, who married Welcome William Durrence of Tattnall County. I was told that William Williams founded the town of Williamsburg on the Altamaha, but I have very little info other than that. If anyone has anything to share, I would greatly appreciate it.
