Edenfield-Phillips

According to a story my uncle told my mother just before he died, their father grew up in Jesup. He and his brothers had some legal problems due to stealing livestock during the depression and left that area for Jacksonville, Fl. They allegedly were named L.M., Lester, and Jacob Wiley (Jake) Edenfield but changed their names to Phillips. My grandfather Jake is buried in an unmarked grave in the Edenfield cemetary. The grave was left unmarked at the Edenfield family's request. His parents were said to be Agnes Summerlin and Harry Edenfield. Harry was said to have operated a ferry near Jesup. My mother is old and wants to know who she really is. She says she went to the grave and a store owned by an Edenfield relative but doesn't remember where. If anyone has any information please help! gailmac22@yahoo.com
