Okefenokee Press has expanded the genealogical resources at its website. The site offers complete indexes to the Charlton County Herald for the years 1936 through 1943. (The indexes can be searched for keywords and surnames using the “edit->find” function of your internet browser.) There is also a searchable index to “Queen of the Okefenokee,” by Lois B. Mays. We have recently added a series of 47 biographical sketches of prominent citizens of Charlton County, many of which were written in 1949-1950.
