Jim, I can't add to anything you have, but I have a Jane (Garrett) Carter mentioned in her mother's will in Walton Co. in 1844. I couldn't find a marriage record in Walton Co. for Jane Garrett to a Mr. Carter, but did find a Jane Garrett married to a Mr. Hart. I wondered if her first husband died and she married into your Carter family?

Thanks for your assistance.
Wanda
