Roll Call for Union County 2004

Hi listers...

I am interested in starting a "roll call" of ancestors from Union County to start off the New Year with. Basically what I'd like to see from other Union County researchers is who your pioneer family was and when they first appeared in Union County. In the interest of brevity, just list the original first family of your ancestors, the parents and children, when they first appeared and from where they hailed from. I'll be glad to start it off:

JOSIAH CLEMENT (1811 NC) and REBECCA ELLIOT(T) CLEMENT (1818 NC) moved to Union County from North Carolina in the year 1846. Their children at that time were:
WILLIAM RILEY (1835 NC)
JOHN (1838 NC)
ISAAC (1840 NC)
LOUISA (1842 NC)
JOSIAH Jr. (1847 GA)
ZACHARY TAYLOR (1850 GA)

The CLEMENT name underwent various spellings over the years (Clements-Clemmons-Clemands-Clemons, etc).

I will post my DILLS, CHASTAIN and TOWERY pioneer families soon. Right now, my CLEMENT family line is my primary research area but I'm hoping as soon as I post my other lines, I will be able to connect to new cousins and garner some new data.

Let's hear from you...perhaps your ancestor will be the one to help someone else break through their proverbial brick wall!

Thanks to all who participate!
