Still looking for any record of the Bennet King who was in Twiggs Co.,Ga. in the 1840 & 1850 census....Not there in 1860....did he die in Twiggs co. before 1860?.....he had neighbors named Ward who named one of their sons, Bennet Ward...and in 1850 there was a lady named Ward in Bennet King's household....daughter?????..I wrote the court house there in 1989 and the Clerk of the Probate Court said they had no probate record of Bennet King....that their courthouse burned and their records start in 1901...
Anybody out there connected to this particular Bennet King...There were several Bennet Kings in different states, including, NC, Va, Ky. and Ohio and later over westward, besides the one in SC in 1790's and Georgia in early tax records and 1820 census...then land lotteries show he died and his widow, next friend to his "Orphans" got draws in the lottery...I have deeds that show the one in South Carolina to be the "eldest son of George King" who died about 1780....any help on this Twiggs co. Bennet King would be much appreciated....
