Does any of the books on Twiggs County correlated the commanders of the various "tax lists" and/or lottery registration lists with the numbered militia districts ? (The period in question is between 1818-1833.)For example, which numbered districts did the two Captain Belchers command in the earliest tax list ? It seems that Captain Herring replaced Captain Brown between 1830-1833, but which numbered district was this ? Any and all help rendered in determining who was where will be greatly appreciated. I doubt that there is one simple answer, but getting a start will help.
