Exum Cemetery Twiggs or Bleckley Co.

If anyone has any information or questions, please reply by E-mail. I seldom check this site.

We found a cemetery today that is in terrible condition. It is either in the north west corner of Bleckley Co or the South west corner of Twiggs Co. It is near the river and Hwy. 96 as far as I can tell. It seems to have been rather large. There were large monuments and individual mausoleums also. These are the inscriptions that we could get to.

Sacred to the memory of Matthew Exum who died Mar 29, 1823. Age 57 yrs.

Mr. Exum was a native of North Hampton Co. NC and moved to Ga in 1810

This monument is erected by Mrs. Rebecca Bryan to the memory of her first husband Matthew Exum

These were on three sides of a very large monument.

Sacred to the memory of Laura daughter of Benjamin and Nancy Bryan who departed this life on the 28th day of December, 1816 Age 11 years, 11 months and 8 days.
This was on the lid of a Mausoleum.
If anyone can tell me about this cemetery, I would appreciate it. Betty
