Looking for any available information on Thornton Perry (b 1755 Halifax County, NC d 06/1848 Twiggs County m Rebecca Hightower 12/23/1803).
Thornton's Father, Joseph Perry, moved the family from Halifax County, NC to Laurens County, GA in 1796. Thornton moved his family from Laurens County to Twiggs County, Georgia around 1808-1809
Thornton served as a private in the militia ordered out on the frontier of Twiggs County, in pursuance of orders from Brigadier General Blackshear, dated August 7, 1813, for the protection of the inhabitants residing in the Ocmulgee area, and to build Fort Jackson during the War of 1812.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
