My sister sent me a clipping from the 1912 paper and low and behold my granddaddy was shot on the streets of Ashburn!!! And even more mind boggling he had been engaged to a Minnie Marchman who died mysteriously from poisoning??!! People help me I have to know more. I have recently had surgery for a ruptured Achellies Tendon so a trip to Turner County is out of the question. My granddaddy was the late Tan Cleghorn and it states in the article that a brother in law of the girl a W. J. Cochran shot granddaddy in the thigh (reckon thats why he limped?) and his brother Marion in the face. I have to know more, who was Minnie Marchman and how did she die? Why did the brother in law and the brother shot my granddaddy and his brother? Why were 5 Cleghorn brothers "toting" guns on the streets of Ashburn? Were they ever arrested and if so for what?
ANYTHING anyone can help me with will be great. I have been bite by the genealogy bug bad and this just causes it to itch more.
