Evelyn, I just today was doing some research on a Tommie Jones, dau. of Gid H. Jones, Troup County. She is listed in the 1880 U. S. Census as the daughter of Gid H. Jones age 63 b NC, Eliza A. Jones, age 55. Also listed are Lafayette Jones age 31, Bell Jones, age 18, Lizzie Jones, age 13. Tommie was 16 yrs.

G. H. Jones (b. NC) and family are listed in the 1850, 1870, 1880 Census of Troup County, GA. He evidently died before the 1900 Census (Troup County, GA because only Eliza (his widow) is shown as head of household and son Lafayette Jones lived with her. There is a David Jones who lives next door along with his family and David Jones was listed as being a son in the 1850 census.

My interest in this family lies solely on Tommie Jones. I suspect she married my ggrandfather E. D. Pat O'Connor and was the mother of my grandfather John Henry O'Connor of Georgia. If you can help in this respect it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.!
