Thomas Beckwith (not Beckworth) Floyd married 2nd Rebecca Ann "Becky Ann" Sharp 02/11/1841 in Meriwether Co., GA or Troup Co., GA (I could not find them in either record).

Thomas died 1875 & is buried in a church cemetery near his old home in Troup Co., GA.

Becky was given a small part of the estate (which she had to fight tooth & nail for...she raised all his children & should have been entitled) when he died & moved back to Chambers Co., AL (just across the river).

There is also a story from the civil war about yanks coming to their house & Becky acting like she was nursing a newborn (it was just a hoax) to keep the northern soldiers at bay. I can find the story & reprint it for you if you like.

If I can help you find any info (I live just 15 minutes from LaGrange) just let me know.

Hank Rogers
