Know all men by these present that we, SHERIFF BREWSTER of Harris County and said State in the right of his wife SELINDA, HENRY P. LYNCH in the right of his said wife SARAH WILLIAM WORTHAM, WILLIAM T. WORTHAM and JOSEPH W. WORTHAM all of Troup County and said State, do hereby relinquish unto THOMAS PAYNE WORTHAM all our claims, interests and demands to three certain NEGROES namely JINCY about eight, LEE THOMAS about six and SUSAN about 4 years of age. To have and to hold said Negroes together with each their increase forever. They being the off spring of a Negro woman named CHARITY who were given by WILLIAM WORTHAM in year Eighteen Hundred Fourteen [Morgan County, GA, Deed Book D, pages 188, 189 and 190] to THOMAS P. WORTHAM and ZECHARIAH GEORGE WORTHAM and now in the possession of WILLIAM COX of Morgan County. At such, we do hereby best the said THOMAS P. WORTHAM with full power and authority to SUE for and recover said Negroes and to dispose of them in any way that he may deem fit and proper for so doing, this shall be a sufficient showing as the right and title to said Negroes, are hereby conveyed unto the said THOMAS P. WORTHAM and to his heirs, executors and administrators which we warrant and forever defend against ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators by virtue of them present. In Witness, whereas here unto let our hands and affix our Seals this Thirteenth day of January Eighteen Hundred and Thirty One, Signed Sealed and delivered in presents of BOYD RIDGEWAY and JOSEPH LOFTON.
