Dan Johnson:You must really think I am nuts... I have got so much going with this stuff I am having difficulty keeping my brain straight.... I remember you now... you are the great guy who got me started on the right track with yours and my genealogy.... you live down in Central AMerica ... is that correct.... please send to me that numbered lineage as you did once before.... that was terrific.... do you have anything before William Parker, Rev. War veteran??? I must have gotten you and Dan Fairfax twisted up... oh well!!! Do you have the location of any of those cemeteries listed in that great lineup of yours? I plan to make a trip to NC, TN, and GA next year to look up those places!!! If you are ever in Texas, you must come visit us... we have plenty of room and would love to have you and your wife... kids, grand-kids, etc. ----- Original Message -----

I am looking for my line of Parker's in NC, GA, TN or where ever, and proof of lineage! All messages will be answered and appreciated. Also, locations of cemeteries, location of land grant #2566/580 acres, north side of Clinch River, Hawkins co., TN given to William Parker, Rev. War veteran, AND who was William Parker's parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. Thank you very very much, John D. Parker, 1407 Woodland Drive, Lufkin, TX 75904

Dan Fairfax: Thanks for your help! The NC-SC-ROOTS-L-request@LISTSERV.INDIANA.EDU, is, as I understand it, a machine/computor that accepts requests for genealogy assistance and puts the requests out on a instant network of other people seeking help or committed to helping others locate ancestors. And, keep in mind, that I am a computer illiterate/novice/no-brainer... I just do what the big guys tell me to do... with my hand-written .... as I was instructed to learn beginning sixty years ago in the first grade! Regards, JP-----P.S. How do we hook up with the "common ancestors; Wm. Solomon Parker, Jr., and wife Elizabeth Brown? I will be going to those web sites that you mentioned, www.genforum.com/parker and www.genform.com/nc/jackson. Thank you very much! JP

Dan: Your inquiry was sent to me via SUB NC-SC-ROOTS-L which I subscribed to in Indiana.... why yours came to me I'll never know, BUT I need to ask you some questions... hopefully you will not think me brash or intusive! I am currently researching my Parker roots, going back through GA, NC, TN.... I have established that my Great-great-great-great-grandfather was William Parker, born about 1740; he received a land grat in 1788, #2566/580 acres; north side of Clinch River, Hawkins co., TN for his service in the Revolutionary War. His son was William Solomon Parker, Sr., born Abt. 1770 in NC?; died 1840 in Haywood co. NC; married Martha Pleasant Anderson Abt. 1789 in NC.Both are buried in Brown Cemetery, NC. The second child of twelve was William Solomon Parker, Jr., born 29 Jan 1791 in Henderson co., NC; died 15 Sept 1868 in Towns co., GA; married Elizabeth 'Jane' Brown Abt 1815 in Haywood co., NC. "Jane" was born 1797 in Rowan co., NC; died before 1880. Both Jr., and 'Jane' are buried in Towns co., GA. The seventh child born to that union was William C. Parker... he had 8 brothers and sisters.... he was born 4 Oct 1833 in Haywood co., NC; died Abt. 1895 in Franklin co., AR. He married Amanda Matilda Wood 3 Aug 1856 in Towns co., GA. Amanda was born 21 Oct 1838. Both William C. and Amanda are buried in Franklin co., AR in Morgan cemetery on Fly Gap on the north side of Parker Mountain. Their are headstones for both in that cemetary placed there by my father, Vol Brown Parker. William and Amanda had five children, one of which was my grandfather, John Elisha Parker, born 24 July 1867, in Rocky Ford, GA; he died 15 July 1953 in Franklin co., AR on Parker Mountain; he was married to Rachel Claudia Crawford (the Crawford's go back to Turkey Creek, KY); Rachel was born 13 Aug, 1873; died 7 Mar 1950. Soooooooooooo, saying all that I am wondering how I get that information out through the Indiana Roots NC-SC systems so hopefully someone might see it and respond? I would really like to plan a trip to NC, GA, and TN to visit these cemeterys and that place on the north side of the Clinch River, Hawkins co., TN and find that land grant place of William Parker. The handed down story is that William C. came home from the War to Rocky Ford, Towns co., GA to find his house, barn burned, and the farm destroyed, he tried to restart there but it just was not right, my grandfather was born in 1867 and two year later they started west... when they got to what is now Parker Mountain AR... it looked just like Haywood co., NC and Towns co., GA so he stopped their and stepped off 400 acres. He had a uncle who had gone west and eventually died in OK, Daniel Coleman Parker, born in 1802. Anyhow, I hope that I haven't troubled you too much.... if I did I apologize! Thank you very very much! John Darrell Parker, 1407 Woodland Drive, Lufkin, TX 75904; 1-800-632-4663.

I hope this helps you... e-mail me if you want more info!
