I find the following references to the name Carter:

Betty...agee 23 on 1860 Census
Isaac, agee 30 on 1860 Census..shoemaker
wife Ellen age 23, dau Sepronis age 4, son Samuel 1
Sameul, 1860 Census, age 544, wife Sarah aage 48

Eliza Carter married Jesse Kennady
Wm Carter married Pleesby Burney
Susan Carter married Jordan Davis
Nancy married James Jackson

RM Carter listed a a Magistrate

L.Jasper Carter...Confederate Veteran-- Terrell CO Camp 404

L.J. Carter, CO H 13th GA Vol Inf, Evans Brig, Gordons Div
CSA, Terrell CO Panola Rifles...mustered Jul 8 1861
at Griffin, GA
L.J. shows wounded at Gettysburg, PA Jul 2, 1863.

There are Carters listed at Herod Baptisi Church and Parrott
Baptist Church. There is also a Carter buried at Parrott cemetery.
